About

An engineer who found abstraction

Özlem Çuhadar is a Turkish artist with a background in engineering. After seven years in corporate roles, she discovered her passion for abstract painting in 2018, and it has shaped her life since.

Her work is driven by emotion (joy, vulnerability, transformation) and by the ideas of memory, place and cultural memory. She works across subjects, materials and techniques, layering texture, metal leaf and pigment into surfaces that invite a closer look.

Since moving to Dubai she has shown in numerous group exhibitions, won first place in the SAKKU Quarterly Virtual Exhibition, and in 2025 joined the Art Committee of the Turkish Business Council in Dubai.
